When Jesus said “GO” in Matthew 28, He wasn’t handing out a casual suggestion. This wasn’t the Great Consideration—it was the Great Commission.
And let’s be honest—“going” can feel intimidating. It’s easy to think, That’s for the evangelists. That’s for the extroverts. But the command to go wasn’t given to a select few. It was for all believers, for all time.
From the very beginning, God has invited His people to participate in His mission as carriers of His message. That’s why you and I are still here. If the goal of salvation were only about getting to heaven, we’d be there the second we gave our lives to Jesus. But God has us here on purpose—on mission—as ambassadors of His Kingdom.
At Impact, we call this living sent. It’s about seeing yourself as someone who has been commissioned by Jesus to carry His love into your world—your family, your workplace, your neighborhood, your city.
Jesus didn’t save us just so we could attend church, take notes, and hide from the world until heaven. He saved us on purpose and for a purpose—to reach others.
Romans 5:8 (NIV) says:
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
That verse is easy to skim over, but don’t miss this: demonstrates is in the present tense. His love wasn’t just proven once at the cross—it’s ongoing, eternal, and active right now. And notice: He loved us while we were still sinners.
He didn’t wait until we cleaned ourselves up. He made His move when we were still a mess. Aren’t you thankful for that?
We’ve been forgiven. Set free. Given a second chance. And Jesus says in Matthew 10:8 (NIV):
“Freely you have received; freely give.”
We’ve received so much—how could we not give fully of ourselves to reach others?
Marc Estes put it this way:
“The value you place on that which is lost will determine the sacrifice you are willing to make to find it.”
A man in Brazil woke up one night to find his house engulfed in flames. Smoke filled the rooms as he scrambled to gather his children and get them to safety.
Out on the street, gasping for air, he looked around at the faces of his kids. But something was wrong. One was missing. He had saved 80% of his family—but 80% wasn’t enough. Without hesitation, he ran back into the fire until he had every one of his children safe in his arms.
Now let me ask: What kind of father would settle for 80%?
And what kind of church settles for 80% of our city?
Jesus didn’t stop at 99 sheep—He went after the one (Luke 15). He’s not the God of “almost all”—He’s the God who pursues every soul. If that’s His heart, it must be ours too.
Luke 19:10 (NLT) reminds us:
“The Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Acts 3 gives us a picture of what it looks like to live on mission. Peter and John were on their way to pray when they encountered a lame man begging at the temple gate. Instead of walking past, they stopped, listened, and ministered in Jesus’ name.
Here are seven takeaways from their example:
Seek Him – They were headed to prayer before the miracle. Discipleship starts with pursuit.
Be Ready – They didn’t wait for a stage or ministry trip. They simply lived available.
Be Alert – They noticed the man others had ignored. Who’s at your “gate called Beautiful”?
Be Sensitive – They looked with Spirit-led focus, listening for God’s leading.
Be Obedient – They gave what they had—the name of Jesus—and it was enough.
Have Faith – Peter reached out before seeing the miracle. Faith moves first.
Rejoice in the Results – When God moved, joy and amazement spread.
This wasn’t just a physical healing—it was a spiritual awakening. The miracle preached louder than any sermon.
Here at Impact, our vision is:
“To build a thriving church where Jesus impacts people to transform their world.”
That’s not just a nice slogan—it’s a summons. A call to live sent.
Pray for people.
Care for people.
Share your story.
Because you may be the only Bible someone ever reads.
So don’t just go across the world. Go across the street. Into your workplace. Into your everyday moments. Because the Great Commission wasn’t given to the few—it was given to you.
Let’s be people who run back into the fire, who refuse to stop until all have heard.
So GO. Live on mission. Live with intention. Live with urgency.
